How to fill the white blank screen?

So, I created this blog-site a while ago; and whilst normally I have so much to say on life, training, nutrition and day to day ‘stuff’ in general, I sat twiddling my thumbs, with a severe case of writer’s block. What should I write about? Will people be interested in my research and opinion? Will people think I have turned into a narcissistic, self involved plonker (I haven’t, i promise!)? Did it have to be brilliant, witty and wise? Did it have to be insightful and beautifully written? This first page was going to be my introduction, my ‘big hello’ to everyone…. So I decided to leave it; if I was meant to write then the words would arrive…..eventually.

Fast forward 3 months and life has become a little more hectic. My little business of Turbo Fit Personal Training & Coaching has arrived (my business cards have arrived so it must mean its official!), my Spin & TRX class schedule has grown, I’ve started a new job at a local gym in town as their Personal Trainer and Toby, our resident mischief maker is now 16 month old and walking (with as much sense of direction as Dory from 'Finding Nemo', but with the speed of an Exocet missile). Oh and the small feat of preparing for Iron Man Lake Tahoe is ever present in the back of my mind and training is ramping up. So, in true ‘Sarah Style’ I decide that now is the time to start writing.

A little bit of background on Turbo Fit….

So after 10 years in the Royal Air Force, in 2013 I left the Service to move to the USA with my husband, Chris, for a few years. There wasn’t any doubt about the type of career I wanted to follow; I’ve been running for as long as I can remember, competing in triathlon (for both the RAF and represented GB at the Age-Group World and European Championships), I love training and find the human body, and what it can physically and mentally achieve, fascinating. So, after the birth of my son, Toby ‘The Turbo’ Wilcox (hence Turbo Fit’s business name), I decided to make the career jump to the Personal Training industry. Picking up an Indoor Cycling qualification seemed a logical step since I love riding and the majority of my triathlon training is on a bike, I then added a TRX qualification to the mix. I’m a Certified Personal Trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and I’m also a qualified Sport & Remedial Deep Tissue Massage Therapist (through the London School of Sports Massage) in the UK. The next step is a Nutrition certification with Precision Nutrition this coming September, thereby adding more strings to the proverbial bow. So thats me, in a nutshell: Wife, Mum, Step-Mum, Entrepreneur, Personal Trainer, Triathlete and now, blogger!

So, friends, I welcome you to Turbo Fit’s blog. A blog on training/fitness ideas (for whatever your goal), nutrition, sports massage, self treatment and a whole host of other subjects probably!

Take from it what you will; although I do hope you enjoy.

To coin a phrase from a favorite business of mine (ahem, Turbo Fit):

 ‘Make It Count’

  1. Sarah,
You had me at Lake Tahoe Triathlon...I am considering working with a coach and am interested in what you may have to offer. I do sprint and ply distances but am usually at the back of the pack and would be interested in performing better...a lot better.

Best of luck in your new venture!
    Cynthia
